Overview

This project focused on reworking a front yard planting to better reflect the site’s conditions while improving curb appeal and long-term performance. The existing landscape required frequent input and did not take full advantage of the space or setting.

The goal was to introduce a native planting that feels intentional, appropriate for a residential front yard, and easier to maintain over time.

Scope of Work

  • Site evaluation and assessment of existing conditions

  • Selection of native plants suited to sun exposure and soil conditions

  • Planting design focused on structure, coverage, and seasonal interest

  • Removal of underperforming plant material

  • Installation coordinated to support establishment and long-term success

Design Considerations

Key considerations included visibility from the street, scale relative to the home, and year-round appearance. Native species were selected to provide structure and visual interest while remaining well-suited to the site and surrounding neighborhood.

The planting design balances ecological value with a composed, residential aesthetic appropriate for a front-facing landscape.

Outcome

The completed renovation creates a front yard that feels cohesive, intentional, and well-adapted to its setting. The native planting reduces maintenance demands while enhancing curb appeal and supporting long-term landscape performance.
